Before he starts his build, Bre fittingly warns, “it’s a just a good idea to keep your hands away from anything that can cut them off.” He also points out, with power tool racing, style is just as important as speed — it’s more about winning over the crowd than winning the race. Take a look…

This reminds of the mid-sixties when slot car racing was the rage out in the west coast. The local association limited us to motors that cost less than ten dollars. I had to go to Japan on a TDY assignment for the Air Force. While there I bought several Globe motors that retailed for twenty plus dollars here in the US and I bought them and had the receipt showing my cost was about eight dollars US. The results? I blew away my competition and the association passed a law to outlaw my motors. So I took my motors, rewound them and encased them in epoxy and balanced them on razor blades. Results? Blew the competition away, again. I could just see taking a few windings out of a few motors and watching the fun.
