Dogged by competitors imitating the classic look of its bath fixtures, Brooklyn-based Watermark Designs decided to do some imitating of its own. The company’s new line of Classic Contemporary faucets is inspired by the work of six renowned architects: Frank Lloyd Wright, Frank Gehry, I.M. Pei, Le Corbusier, Philip Johnson, and Mies van der Rohe. According to Watermark president Avi Abel, the company specifically chose those architects because of their distinct, recognizable styles.
Offered in five complete faucet sets (van der Rohe and Pei share a spout style, and Le Corbusier’s influence is expressed in two of the handle variations) and 37 finishes, the new faucets are designed to match Watermark’s existing lineup of bathroom fixtures and accessories. All the new faucets feature German-made ceramic-disk valves and brass construction, and are available with 1.5 gal.-per-minute (gpm) water-saving aerators.
Manufactured and tested in Brooklyn, the faucets are sold through a nationwide network of kitchen and bath, hardware, and plumbing suppliers.
