I saw a magnetic soap holder that kept the soap off the counter, eliminating the need for a soap dish. I loved the idea but didn’t love the one I saw, or its price, so I made my own. I purchased a robe hook from the Manhattan line by Dynasty and used epoxy to attach a “rare earth” magnet onto its end. Then I installed the hook next to my sink, upside down. I pushed a steel T-nut, which is barbed and therefore grabs onto the soap, into the soap bar. The nut sticks to the magnet, allowing the soap to hang from the holder.
