It will have a low-carbon footprint, high-performance features, and production-builder credibility.
Also, Martha Stewart style.
If you visit the KB Home showcase at the International Builders’ Show, scheduled for January 12-15 in Orlando, Florida, it will be hard to miss the hoopla surrounding the KB Homes GreenHouse: An Idea Home Created with Martha Stewart. It is the thirteenth home in the Builder Magazine Concept Home series and the first single-family residence in the series built to net-zero-energy performance standards.
And although KB’s collaborations with Stewart began a few years ago, this is the first one that digs quite so deep into energy efficiency while still sustaining the Martha Stewart sensibility, with amenities that will range from “lighting controls using handy wireless remotes to functional workspaces and just the right finishing touches,” according to the magazine.
GreenHouse, which will be open for tours on January 12, is intended to highlight not only the energy and water efficiencies achievable through its design – which emphasizes the use of solar power and solar thermal systems, and is geared to meet the Environmental Protection Agency’s WaterSense specifications for new homes – but also the building’s relatively low operating costs.

Martha Stewart went to Jail, Should KB Home's xCEO Bruce Karatz get set free? You should also let Bernie out of prison since he madeoff with his money. Are these the same probation officials in charge of Jaycee Lee Dugard Abduction: Phillip & Nancy Garrido who was on probation in California kept her locked up as a sex slave in their garage or garden shed? The size of that compound is smaller than Karatz's. Just Google KB Home Sucks. My energy efficient KB Home was not since no one at KB Home could hook up the systems correctly. The HVAC blew up 4 times once each year, every time the temp went over 101. it was wired up wrong.
