I’ve come across advertisements about Norbord’s Windstorm OSB sheathing many times over the last couple of years. I’ve seen them advertised in competitive magazines, I’ve spoken with their representatives at trade show booths, and I’ve visited their website.
What I have never seen is the Windstorm OSB product actually being used.
Of course, that could be because I’m not in hurricane country, where the most obvious benefits of Windstorm OSB will shine. Still, the idea of meeting the codes for high wind without blocking, without threaded bolts, and without stud to plate connectors is intriguing.
So, I’m curious, has anybody out there tried this product, or it’s cousin TallWall? Know a friend who’s tried this product? I’m interested to hear some unbiased feedback on what it’s like to work with.
