Universal Fastener Outsourcing and SureDrive offer two versions of The Eliminator (AKA: NSDPP38/40 Positive Placement Ballistic NailScrew Driver) hidden fastener nailer. Both tools install Mantis deck clips.
The original Eliminator works just like a metal connector nailer. First you slip the Mantis clips into the deck board groove. Then you position the tip of the pneumatically driven NailScrew to the fastener hole and pull the trigger. As with the Tiger Claw nailer, it’s important to lay the Eliminator magazine flat to the deck joist before firing; and the tool operates ‘backwards’ when you walk on the installed decking. The original Eliminator can be used to install several other grooved board fastener; check the SureDrive website for more information.
The second-generation Eliminator (The RCS Eliminator) has a special retracting chute called the ‘Auto Slide’ on the bottom of the magazine to hold the Mantis clip. To operate, you put a Mantis in the Auto Slide, lay the magazine on the floor joist and slide the tool into the deck board. The chute guides the Mantis right into the board groove then you pull the trigger to fasten. The new tool makes Mantis installation faster and more precise.
