Drywall Saw in a Pinch
Use locking pliers and a reciprocating saw blade if you don't have the right tool on your job site.
I found myself working on a project that should not have required a drywall saw, but did. Because the only appropriate blades I had were wood blades for a reciprocating saw, I made my own mini drywall punch saw with a blade and a Vise-Grip, as shown in the drawing at left. As it turned out, the sawblade tongue fit perfectly in the throat of the Vise-Grip and kept the blade from rocking. It turned out to be a stiff and easy-to-use tool.
