An Australia-based company has introduced low-maintenance polymer panels for shower walls that have a “glasslike depth of color” and clean up with nothing more than warm water and a microfiber cloth. Lustrolite high-gloss shower walls are 25 times stronger than glass; won’t harbor mold, soap scum, or calcium buildup; and go up three times faster than ceramic tile, with a minimum number of seams, the manufacturer says. They’re available in four stock colors and in sizes of 36 in. by 96 in. and 36 in. by 81 in. Prices range from $450 to $500 per panel, depending on size, but the finished look is unlike anything else on the market.
