Among other woodworking tasks, I reface cabinets and make new doors and drawer fronts. I spray them with a waterborne clear-coat finish applied with an HVLP sprayer, and then I arrange them on the drying rack shown in the drawing below.
This freestanding A-frame consists of a 2×2 skeleton with horizontal arms that support a bunch of shelves made from scrap pieces of plywood, MDF, or melamine through which I have fired rows of narrow-crown staples. As long as I use the same length staples, it doesn’t matter how thick the material is. The numerous staple points distribute the weight of the workpiece and allow plenty of airflow to speed drying.
