For some time, the tile pieces and sludge beneath my tile saw had been a nuisance to clean up at the end of a job. Then one day, while I was laying tile on a patio, I caught a glimpse of something I thought could solve my tile-cleanup problem: a roll of landscaping fabric. I put a piece of it under the saw, and all the mess stayed in one place. The fabric caught the sludge and the tile fragments, and the lawn got a good watering.

I like it! I might even consider lining the bottom of the saw's water tray with a rectangle of the fabric- washing the sludge out of the tray is tedious and messy.
