If you’ve never heard Architect Peter Pfeiffer speak about green building and designing a home for a climate then you’re in for a treat. I first met Peter 9 years ago at a Building Science conference in Boulder CO. He gave a similar talk to this one and I was blown away by his smart design knowledge for a hot/humid climate zone like Austin, TX. At the time I was considering a move from Portland OR to Austin TX (my wife’s hometown) and I said he would be the first guy I would lookup if I moved to Austin. Well, that’s exactly what I did and my first house I built in Austin 7 years ago was designed by Barley & Pfeiffer Architects. Peter was speaking for a local business group and I volunteered to tape his talk. This is the first of two videos, click on the link at the end of the video for part 2.
