When the tip broke off my last #3 Phillips bit, I had plenty of screws left to drive before I could call the job done. I had some #2 bits on hand, but they didn’t fit in the recesses of the #3 screw heads well. I decided to grind down the tip of a #2 screwdriver bit with my belt sander. Sure enough, the bit fit perfectly into the #3 screwheads, and I was able to finish driving the remaining screws with no problems.
