Two important trade shows for the housing industry–the International Builders’ Show (IBS) and the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS)–are planning a combined “Design and Construction Week” in February, the National Association of Home Builders says.
Each trade show is huge in its own right, but placing both of them in the Las Vegas Convention Center on the same dates will draw more exhibitors, create more exhibit space and, NAHB hopes, draw more visitors. Each show will set up in a different hall Feb. 4-6.
Sixty companies that had pulled out of IBS during the housing slump have re-signed, accounting for 20,000 sq. ft. of additional exhibit space. Nearly 90 other companies have increased the size of their exhibits, adding another 30,000 sq. ft., NAHB reports. Only 10% of the exhibit space for KBIS remains unsold, eight months before the show opens.
If you go, bring a comfortable pair of walking shoes. You’ll need them.
