Tweaked Pins Align Hinges
This method for adjusting misaligned door hinges is surprisingly simple.
I had to pull three doors off their hinges to make adequate passage for a new refrigerator. When I tried to put the doors back on their hinges, the old hinge barrels just wouldn’t line up. I took the hinge pins to my shop and ground angled ends on them, as shown in the drawing at left. Tapping them into the misaligned hinge leaves brought them back into line without a problem.
