Project House: Wood-Floor Repair, Ep. 2 – Removal
In this episode, Justin learns how to layout, mark, and cut out old floor boards to make way for the new wood
Restoration expert Scott Sidler teaches Justin how to layout floor-board joints with a marker so the replacement boards won’t stand out like a sore thumb. He then demonstrates how to remove the boards by ripping them in two places with a circular saw. Next they cut the butt joints using two methods; one method strictly uses a multi-tool guided by a rafter square, and the other uses both a circular saw for the initial cut and a multi-tool. The floor is now ready for the replacement boards.
