I’ve been a professional builder since 1995 and PL400 glue is a product that I’ve used on nearly every house I’ve built since then. It’s been the gold standard for SubFloor adhesive, but I believe I’ve found a potentially better product in DAP’s SmartBond.
Here’s what prompted this video test: I had to pull up a small section of Advantech SubFloor on a project recently and I was surprised to see that the PL400 didn’t seem to bond well with the Advantech. I had a hard time finding anything on the web about this so I decided to run a test. My theory was that the high ammount of Polyurathane glue in the Advantech wasn’t bonding well to the PL400 which is a traditional adhesive. Here’s the test we devised to see which might bond better. Enjoy.

I've noticed the same problem with PL400 on Advantec.
