A “Great” Great Room

An exciting great room forms the center of this “X” shaped beachfront house on Cape Cod. Designed by Breese Architects of Martha’s Vineyard, the house sits on posts to protect against storm surge. The extra elevation gives unrestricted views of the dunes, Lewis Bay, Hyannis Harbor and the Nantucket ferry which passes close by. The open roof trusses make for an airy and spacious feeling, while the late afternoon light and the views do the rest. A wonderful beach house, and a great great room
