Infinity edge (or vanishing edge, zero edge or disappearing edge) pools have become all the rage in pool construction over the past few years. They are very dramatic as they tend to blend into the horizon line (especially on seaside locations) and create a fascinating visual sensation. Thought to have originated in France in the 1600’s, one of the earliest examples is the Stag Fountain at the Palace of Versailles. The pool shown here, at a magnificent house on the coast of Maine designed and built by Knickerbocker Group, is a stunning example of the type.
