The Marvin Companies of Warroad, Minn., has been named winner of the American Business Ethics Award in the large company category.
The Foundation for Financial Services Professionals, which sponsors the award, rates entries in four categories: executive commitment to ethics; ongoing ethical programming; demonstrated ethical business practices; and a commitment to employees, customers, and the community.
Executives of the door-and-window manufacturer were presented with the award on Oct. 21 at the company’s Warroad headquarters.
“It is an honor to receive this award and to be recognized on a national level for our commitment to doing the right thing for our employees, communities and customers,” Marvin chairman and CEO John W. “Jake” Marvin said in a news release. “As my father once told me, a company is, plain and simple, people. It was how our company began, and it is the core purpose of our business today.
“Staying true to the values that have guided us over the years–integrity, excellence and respect for others–has been, and always will be, the keys to our success.”
Richard M. Weber, chair of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, presented the award.
Marvin Windows and Doors is owned and operated by third- and fourth-generation family members. Founded more than 100 years ago, it employs more than 4500 people in factories around the United States.
