This custom home perched on a cliff high above the Columbia River Gorge takes cinder block to whole new level. Part cost saving, part green building, the exterior of this private residence was built with two sizes of cinder block stacked to create an interesting running board pattern over the entire home and detached garage. Inside the home, bamboo flooring, exposed wooden support beams, and other natural materials balance out the somewhat utilitarian feel of the home.
