Last winter on a very cold and snowy day, I photographed this colorful interior with my talented friend, Terri Gregory. Terri’s artistic eye and extensive experience in architectual and interior design always makes our work together fun and seamless. We’d spent the day attempting to get the right shot of the locally hand-made glass pendants over the dining room table, and by 3:00 pm we still hadn’t found it. As the winter light and our chances of finding the right shot waned, warm sunset light suddenly broke through the clouds and the dining room glowed. Quickly positioning myself at a more symmetrical angle, moving the calla lilies and setting up the oranges, Terri and I were finally able to make the perfect picture. With the help of my amazing editor, Lindsay Raymondjack, it soon became my favorite shot of 2014. Magic!
