The Simplest Drying Rack Ever
Stain and dry five sides of a piece of wood at once with this clever rack.
A while back, I needed to stain and finish many small veneered and edge-banded plywood parts. So, I created a quick and simple rack for drying wood stain to help with the process. It lets me stain five sides at once and stand the pieces up to dry.
Since one edge of each component was unfinished plywood, and relatively soft, I just pushed the plywood onto nails driven through a 1×6. It worked great, and the setup also served as a swell spraying and drying rack for when I applied the lacquer finish.
