After spending 30 minutes going up and down a ladder to remove the panels of a 2000-sq.-ft. drop-in ceiling, I decided that I could remove tiles faster from the ground if I used a piece of conduit. I discovered that if I simply pushed the tile up and rotated it a bit so that two corners of the tile were visible, it often would fall on its own. When it didn’t, I dragged it toward the edge until it did. I’ve found that conduit with a slight bend near the end helps you get more bite. This technique kicks up dust, so a dust mask and eye protection are essential.
