I was about to install a complete set of kitchen cabinets, and I wanted a better way of lifting and positioning the upper cabinets. With that in mind, I purchased a used scissor-lift jack from an auto-wrecking store for $10 and welded a 3/8-in. bolt to the handle end of the jack. Using a drill fitted with a socket, I’m now able to raise and lower the jack quickly and precisely.

This is silly.
I don't install a lot of kitchen cabinets, but when I have I have just used pump clamps, reversed as spreaders.
