The Irwin Impact Power Bit Magnetic Screw Holder is small slide-on plastic device that will turn most 1/4-inch hex-shaped bit into a magnetized bit. It won’t work with a few larger bits, such as a 40-size Torx bit where the T40 tip is wider than 1/4-inch. While the attachment is said to be designed exclusively for Irwin’s Impact Performance Series single- and double-ended power bits, it will easily slide over 1/4-inch hex bits from most companies.
According to Irwin, the rare earth magnet used is four times stronger than standard magnets.
The flat surface holds screws securely and without wobble that is often experienced when using magnetized bits.
