As I’m sitting down to write this post, it’s about 15 degrees outside, with a stiff breeze and a forecast of heavy snow in the next couple of days. Seems like a good time to think about being someplace else, like maybe sitting on this deck on the island of St. Barth’s in the French West Indies. I was assigned by a magazine to shoot this lovely house and two others a few years ago, and it was a wonderful experience. Overlooking the harbor of St. Jean and much of the Carribbean beyond, the views from the deck are breathtaking and mesmerizing. Some rattan furniture and an umbrella to help control the intense sunshine is about all it takes to make this spot a perfect place to forget about a New England winter, at least for a little while…
