Most people like landscape lighting. And just as true, most people don’t like mosquitoes. NuTone has created a device that takes care of both at once. The Haven system combines a backyard lighting fixture with a mosquito repellent system.
The housings are made out of powder-coated aluminum and available in black or a bronze color. The stems are 18-in. long with 10-in. long plastic spikes. A deck mounting flange is also available for use on posts and railings. The lights are LED arrangements (16 LEDs). The total light output is 40 lumens at 2900K. 18-in. 18-gauge wires are included.
If lighting isn’t required, fixtures without lights are available. NuTone claims four fixtures would cover a 440 sq. ft. area.
To repel mosquitoes, the Haven uses a EPA-registered repellent that is vaporized. NuTone states the repellent won’t harm vegetation. The repellent is odorless and invisible and provides protection after 15 minutes of use. Each cartridge provides approximately 216 hours of protection. The cartridges are available in single or four-pack refills.
A timer/controller allows programming of the lighting and repellent system separately and for automatic operation. The units can be turned on via a timer or solar sensor.
