The original space was heated with tongue and groove wood on the walls. The carpeting had been there for approximately twenty years and had some serious pet odor. To create a fun and liveable space for kids to play and guests to visit, the knotty pine walls and ceiling were painted white, a new carpet was installed and the pet odor was eliminated. Gas pipe was purchased at a local plumbing supply warehouse, painted black and then installed as a ladder and monkey bars. A gym grade climbing rope was also installed as another way to get down from the monkey bars.

That is a huge transformation indeed judging from the description you have given.
