A beautiful curved walnut island forms the focal point of this redesigned kitchen with a sitting room and welcoming fireplace where guests can linger on chilly nights. The space is elegant yet simple and provides a casual work station in the very center of the home close to all activities. During the remodeling process, the existing fireplace was moved and centered on the wall to create balance, and new shelving now provides extra storage for special collections.
