This remarkable built-in banquette is the centerpiece of a combined kitchen and family room in a home on the south shore of Massachusetts. According to Paul Reidt of Kochman Reidt + Haigh cabinetmakers (who crafted the piece) its curvilinear geometry was designed to create intimate spaces within a large space. Made of cherry wood, its rich warm color and handsome upholstery produces an inviting atmosphere in the room. Architect for the house was Doreve Nicholaeff.
