It’s the time of year when my days at work are not as long. Shooting on summer nights until 9 p.m. is over. It’s bittersweet. Looking back on the night shoots of June, July, and AugustĀ is fun to do, and every summer always seems to go by too fast. I hiked out into a meadow to take this shot so I could capture the house in its setting with Mt. Philo State Park in the background. The sun was setting behind me over Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks. The builder designed a connecting mudroom from the garage and a two-story addition, which takes advantage of the these westerly views. Now it’s time to start thinking about capturing autumn color, the warm low-angled light of fall, and, eventually, the first snowfall.
