Hi guys, my name is Bryan Boutin and I'm a full time railing installer for one of seven large stair and railing companies in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. I've been working in the stair and railing industry for 8 years now and have installed everything from a basic wall mount railing to a million dollar double stair staircase. If you guys, or your readers, are interested in doing a more in depth article/issue about stairs and railings you should look north to what we are doing in Alberta. The number of stair and railing companies and guys installing railing on a daily basis is unlike anywhere in North America, from what I can tell. The company I subcontract for is Specialized Stair and Rail, you can check out there work on the web at specializedstairs.ca and on Houzz. For more behind the scenes on railing and stair installs check out my Instagram, bjbwoodshop. Also check out brian_guenther and thestairmaster on Instagram as well, they also work for Specilized Stairs. The standards and skills are very high in Alberta when it comes to stairs and railings, and I would love to learn the history to how it got this way. Thanks for producing my favorite podcast and magazine, keep doing what you guys are doing.
Hey, Bryan! Thanks for your good comment, feedback, and resources! We'll look these things up.—Aaron Fagan, Associate Editor
Hi Aaron,
In a recent episode, (I think it was this one but I'm not sure), one of you mentioned a product he sprayed on pine siding that instantly restored it, removing the graying. Can you tell me what that product was? Thanks.
Hey, Alex! It's a Zep product called Clear Shell. I just added the link above. I was having trouble finding it myself!—Aaron Fagan, Associate Editor
