The Wigwam Motel in Rialto, Calif., is a reminder of bygone days when unique and creative accommodations were to be found along roadsides everywhere. This one, sited on historic Route 66 is one of three such Wigwam motels still surviving in the United States. Built in 1949 it is a charming and inviting alternative to the more institutionalized motels of today. The ferro-cement tepees are fully equipped inside and offer an unusual option for a place of rest for the night. Very cool!
