Johns Manville is offering mineral wool insulation. In addition to thermal control, fire resistance and acoustic performance were touted as advantages. Johns Manville states that mineral wool has a 2000° F melting point.
Owens Corning is also getting into mineral wool insulation and cited similar benefits.
