It’s hard to say what a carpenter’s most useful tool is, but we wouldn’t get too far without tape measures. And while they’re not too difficult to use, getting and transferring an accurate measurement isn’t always as easy as hooking the tape on the long end of the board. The video correctly deals with the problem of tape hook adjustment. Once that is done, you should also check that your most frequent measurement (e.g. 8-feet) also matches up.
