Episode 39: Septic, House Flipping, Showers, Doors
Featuring cautionary tales of injury, blood, infection, and close calls.
Reacting to listeners is the focus of this episode of the Fine Homebuilding podcast. FHB editors Justin Fink, Rob Yagid, and Brian Pontolilo answer questions on shower installation, installing exterior pre-hung double doors, and ceiling condensation. One listener offers a personal warning on septic mishaps. A real estate professional offers advice on flipping houses. And Rob talks about the time he got a nail in his eye.

I was never that into the push stick unless we were ripping a piece less than 3/4" wide but I finally found one that I like. Check it out for yourselves.

Two second hand stories related to guards pinned up on worm drive saws. A friend working after hours at a medical clinic had a guy knock on the door. He had been working late on a job next door. The saw kicked back and put a slice in his thigh from his knew to his hip. When my son was an EMT on an ambulance, he ran a call where a guy had kick back and tried to give himself a vasectomy. That alone is a good reason to use the guard.
I enjoyed your post.
