An Idyllic Master Bedroom
This summer-cottage bedroom was designed to be as accessible to the outside as possible
This inviting master bedroom is part of a remodeled summer cottage built along the shore in coastal Maine. Cooling sea breezes enter through large windows and a sliding door, which opens on to a verdant and peaceful garden. A stone pathway winding through the garden goes down to the shore just a few feet away. Inside, open rafters reinforce the rustic feel of the place and a comfortable deck just outside is a terrific spot to enjoy some morning coffee. According to architect John Priestly, the goal when designing the bedroom was to make it as accessible to the outside as possible. It looks to me like he succeeded!
