The Shed Out Back
A shed can serve as an in-law apartment, an art studio, an Airbnb rental, or — as in the case of these two sheds — a writer’s retreat and a crash pad for a college-age child.
More and more people living in small houses are discovering the benefits of having a “shed out back.” Especially if it’s finished like a tiny house, a shed can serve as an in-law apartment, an art studio, an Airbnb rental, or—as in the case of these two sheds—a writer’s retreat and a crash pad for a college-age child. The sheds are in the backyard of Seattle-based writer Marc Vassallo, who is working on a book called A Little House in the City (to be published by The Taunton Press in Fall 2018).
