Fall Dusk Shoot
An autumnal look at custom garage doors, Meranti Mahogany decking, Hardie cement clapboards, and Marvin windows.
The days are getting shorter, and my days of long shoots from sunrise to sunset are numbered. Soon there will be bare trees and a light cover of snow on the ground in New England. November and December are when we catch up on office work, edit jobs and take a little time off. This image was from my final photo shoot last year. It was Halloween, and there was a chill in the air and some gloomy clouds in the sky (we edited some of those clouds out!). Most of the leaves had fallen from the trees except for one vibrant orange maple to the left of the house. Earlier that day I had captured the beautiful color of the tree leaves in a master bathroom shot through the window. We had been waiting to shoot this new home so the grass and landscaping could fill in some. The custom-designed garage doors are paneled in Douglas Fir. The detailing on the walls of the covered entry is also Douglas Fir. The decking is Meranti (Mahogany) and the siding is Hardie cement clapboards. The windows are from Marvin. I wrapped up around 6:15 pm to head home, but before I finished shooting, I had a chance to hand out some candy to some very excited trick-or-treaters.
