Free Webinar: Building Science Advisor Web-Tool
Building Science Advisor is a web-based design tool to help you sort out moisture risk issues in exterior wall design.
The DOE Oak Ridge National Lab is tuning up a web tool for building designers and builders to help them avoid moisture condensation problems in high R-value wall assemblies. A webinar on February 7, 2018 will introduce the Building Science Advisor (BSA). I played with the BSA beta-version in August and early September. It’s a simple-to-use tool with several inputs for wall design elements that you can configure: siding, exterior insulation, wall cavity insulation, rainscreen airspace, housewrap perm, exterior sheathing, interior vapor retarder and interior finish. Climate input is based on cities so you pick one that is nearby your location.
Scott Gibson wrote a full description of BSA for GreenBuildingAdvisor, so check it out for additional information and register for the DOE / ORNL webinar to learn more.
