Crafted Door, Inviting Entrance

A warm welcome: Beautiful stained glass sidelights in an art nouveau style add richness to the overall visual palette.

Architect John Silverio created this inviting entrance for a waterfront house he designed in coastal Maine. With a rounded archway, hip roof, and variegated shingle work, he introduced Richardsonian touches to the house. The door itself is nicely crafted with beautiful stained glass sidelights in an art nouveau style adding richness to the overall visual palette and illustrating the importance of careful detailing in design work. At dusk the entrance is very warm and welcoming, creating just the right atmosphere …

    It seems unfortunate that the combined roof pitches will dump the Maine snow load right in the entrance pathway.
