New Lock Adds Privacy to Barn Doors
A clever and handsome solution to the barn door lockability issue.
Barn doors have become tremendously popular in recent years, especially to divide master suites, but have always had one drawback: until now, you couldn’t lock them without a makeshift solution, as an executive at INOX discovered to her embarrassment. After her child interrupted her bath, the benefits of creating a privacy feature became apparent. The Privacy Lock for Barn Doors, which debuted at Design & Construction Week 2018, fulfilled that mandate. It works with a turn lock installed in the jamb that lines up with the door when it’s closed.
- Comes in six finishes (polished and satin stainless-steel, satin brass, satin chrome, oil-rubbed bronze, and black)
- ADA-friendly lever option for turn lock available
