Architect Matt Elliott collaborated with his clients to create this Shaker inspired craft room for their new coastal Maine home. Elliott came up with a series of options for the room and the client finally selected this version. With walls of built-in drawers and cabinets of assorted sizes, the space is clearly influenced by Shaker minimalism and is reminiscent of Shaker interiors I’ve seen in Maine, Massachusetts and Kentucky. It reflects well on Shaker design that their aesthetic fits so comfortably into a modern house and helps make this such a wonderful and cheerful work space …
