An Inviting Guest Space
Lofty ceilings with exposed, varnished wood make for a cozy nest when visitors stay over.
Architect Eric Chase made the most of the space above a garage when he created this lovely guest apartment for a house he designed on the coast of Maine. Lofty ceilings with exposed, varnished wood and floors that match give a warmth and richness to the space, while large windows offer views of the water on one side and forest on the other. An ample, built-in window seat provides a comfortable place to stretch out and enjoy the privacy of the space, and an efficient contemporary wood stove offers a cozy source of heat. A small but complete kitchen, lovely bath and spacious bedroom complete the components of this delightful guest apartment.
