A Classic Cape
This house represents one of the iconic American architectural styles and does it with grace and beauty.
A few years back I was on a photo assignment in rural Maine, when I came across this beautiful and unspoiled Cape-style house. I stopped, went to the door, introduced myself as an architectural photographer and told the homeowners how much I liked their house. I asked if I could shoot it, and they warmly welcomed me in and told me to just shoot whatever interested me. I entered the house and came into this lovely dining room just off the kitchen. The sun was pouring in and the light was perfect, making the warm colors glow. Stencil work decorated the walls and the Clarion cook stove served as the epicenter of the space. I only had to make a few adjustments to produce the photo that you see here. This house represents one of the iconic American architectural styles and does it with grace and beauty. It is a tribute to the homeowners that they recognized the classic piece of American architecture that they had, and kept it in such perfect condition …

An inspiration of a house. Thanks for capturing it.
Cool! This time we got two pictures! I find these posts to be useless and frustrating. Is it that much trouble to posts a few more pics for readers that want to learn more?
Gorgeous house. Thank you for the photos! Glad to see any unspoiled representation of the classics!
