Call for Entries for the 2nd Annual ProPaint Awards

At Fine Homebuilding, we know that exceptional homes aren’t crafted by any one particular individual. It takes a talented team of committed men and women to build the best homes possible. Each year we acknowledge some of the best projects in North America in our annual HOUSES Awards, and we regularly celebrate the diverse range of tradesmen and women in the field through our #KeepCraftAlive initiative. What we’ve recognized, though, is that within every job there are painters and finishers who often don’t get the acknowledgment they deserve. Not only do these men and women wholly complete the aesthetics of the home, but their work contributes significantly to the durability and longevity of the homes and spaces we love.

So this year, we’ve partnered with Benjamin Moore to launch The Fine Homebuilding ProPaint Awards. This summer we’re offering three awards in multiple categories to the best painters in building. Each winner will be given a Benjamin Moore prize package redeemable at any Benjamin Moore store and will be showcased in Fine Homebuilding magazine and on Fine Homebuilding.com. We know some of the best craftsmen out there don’t do the work for the notoriety. So we’ve opened up our awards to nominations as well. If you know a painter who deserves to be recognized for their talents, attention to detail, and skill set, then we want to hear about them. Click the link below to enter their name.

The 2018 Fine Homebuilding ProPaint Award Categories:

• Best Historic Preservation: This award goes to the painting contractor who most successfully executed the painting and finish of a home with local, regional, or national historic significance.
• Best Transformation: This award is reserved for the painting contractor who, along with project partners, reimagined an existing space to elevate its character, quality, and beauty.
• The Master Painter Award: This award goes to the dedicated painter who not only has the skill to excel within the most demanding jobs, but executes his work with considerable precision and job-site management.
