Putty Seals Caulk Tube
This little trick keeps caulk fresh for months.
I keep a tub of plumber’s putty near the bin of caulk tubes in my trailer. At the end of the day, I roll a marble-sized ball of putty in my hands and smoosh it over the tips of any open caulk tubes I have left over. This little trick keeps them fresh for months.

I use wire nuts for that purpose. The yellow ones fit just about any way you trim the caulk tube. Just make sure you don't try to use them as wire nuts afterwards!
