Stacked for Storage
Tapered red-birch shelves make the most of angled spaces in a Mansard-roof finished attic.
As part of a complete renovation of an 1800s Vermont Mansard home, this hall bath received new fixtures and a custom vanity of red birch. With very limited storage space in the small room, the cabinetmaker collaborated with the architect to create beautiful, functional, and durable red birch shelves that narrow in width to follow the roofline. Red birch was chosen because of its resistance to UV light and its darkening effects.
