Little House in the City
A compact home can feel roomy if the living space expands into the yard and the neighborhood around it.
Marc Vassallo, author of the new book Little House in the City (Taunton Press), calls small city houses “the next little thing.” About his own house, which I photographed for the book, Vassallo writes, “My house in Seattle is small, just 950 sq. ft., but my home doesn’t stop at the front porch or even at the front gate. It includes sidewalk garden beds, the street, the neighborhood, and the whole city, all near at hand.”
