Clear Concrete Holes
A bulb-style syringe battery filler is an inexpensive and effective way to clear dust and debris from holes in concrete and masonry.
By far the simplest, most cost-effective tool I’ve found for clearing a drill hole in concrete and masonry is a bulb-style syringe battery filler. You can use it to vacuum the dust it into the bulb (but be sure to where the appropriate PPE when working around concrete dust). Available in auto-parts stores for about $5, it’s sturdy, reliable, and it fits in the case with my hammer drill and bits. It has a 6-in. plastic nozzle that fits in holes 3/8 in. in diameter and larger. And because the puff of air is controlled by hand pressure, it’s less likely to blast dust in your face.
